How did Pet Info Packets come to be? Well it started out quite simple. It all started when I came into possession of my first two pet rats. It was the first time I had truly researched a pet before getting it and I found it very rewarding when I was able to confidently provide the best care possible for my new pets. I realized that I had utilized many helpful online websites on rat care. I also realized that many people didn't even know these websites existed. So I thought to myself... why not compile them all in one place? It started, folks, with a wordpad. Yes, a wordpad. A wordpad full of URL's to helpful rat websites that I would email to people on request.
It grew quite a bit and more and more people started requesting it until finally... a wonderful offer came. Skittish Eclipse offered me webspace on her website. I was thrilled and eagerly accepted and so started the Rat Info Packet. It continued to grow in popularity until a friend of mine made mention that she had compiled information on rabbits much like I had on rats. She asked if it was possible she could have webspace and I explained it wasn't really my website. Skittish Eclipse didn't miss a beat however, offering to give me my very own website. That is when I had the idea... why not do this for all kinds of pets? And so Pet Info Packets was born. I have now recently moved to my own hosting and am no longer leeching off of the wonderful Skittish.
Pet Info Packets is here to provide up to date pet care information for various pets. The packets are written by various knowledgeable people, the Rat Info Packet having been written by myself. I always carefully interview anyone interested in writing a packet to be sure they truly know about the proper care of the animal they wish to contribute information on. By all means, if you feel you can provide a packet we don't have contact me! There is much information on pet care out there but unfortunately not all of it is correct or the most up to date information. I wish to create an easy place for people to find the information they seek in order to best care for their new pets, or to learn more about pets they have already had.
